This week was pretty special to me because I had my first 5th grade Chorus and Band Concert! And we also learned how to make Haiku Poems. So sit back, relax, and read!
This week we learned how to make haiku poems. To know you have a Haiku poem the first have to be 5 syllables, the second line have to be 7 syllables, and the last line have to 5 syllables. Nature is a popular topic for haiku. I tried making that’s not about nature and did it!!!
For example: Ark Ark Ark they say(5 syllables), Cute little creatures have fun(7 syllables), Blubber keep them warm(5 syllables), that was about seals. Another one are about hippos, Have their own sunscreen(5 syllables), Dive under mud and water(7 syllables), Protecting themselves(5 syllables). And my last and favorite are are about clowns, Bright wigs make you smile(5 syllables), Make -up smeared all over their face(7 syllables), Small cars drive around(5 syllables).
Now Back to my first 5th grade chorus and band concert! I had so much fun! I learned that when we have a full band rehearsal it is so hard to hear yourself and it is so cool to hear other instruments. I learned lots of thing on the trumpet (did I tell you I play the trumpet). I had to practice not to go to fast or to slow because on some instruments it’s easy to go from one note to another, but one different instruments it’s hard. We had our concert at CHS (Colchester High School). That is all for this week.
